A Telegram name emoji set is a first/last name or group-admin label decorated with emoji or symbols, like 🌸 Mia 🌸 or 👑 Admin. Telegram’s name field takes emoji and Unicode symbols with no restriction, unlike a locked @username, so almost any set below pastes in cleanly.
Telegram splits identity into two parts: your username (the optional @handle, letters/numbers/underscore only, used for the t.me link) and your name (Settings → first name / last name), which is the one shown in chats and search and takes any Unicode text, emoji included. The sets below are for the name field, not the @username.
Classic Unicode symbols like ꧁ ☆ ♡ sit in the Basic Multilingual Plane and count as 1 UTF-16 unit each; most color emoji need a surrogate pair, 2 UTF-16 units. The badge under every set below shows both counts — characters, then UTF-16 units. Below you’ll find 9 groups across four kinds: nickname sets, symbol frames, kaomoji, emoji-only strings.
Every set below is plain Unicode (emoji and symbol blocks), checked against unicode.org’s published charts in October 2026 — see our about page and editorial policy for how we build and check these pages.

Questions people ask
Does Telegram limit how many emoji I can use in my name?
Telegram caps the first and last name fields at 64 characters each, counted the same way our length badge counts them — emoji usually cost 2 of those 64, BMP symbols like ꧁ ☆ cost 1.
Can I use emoji in my Telegram username, not just my display name?
No. The @username is limited to letters, numbers, and underscores by Telegram’s own rule; only the display name (first/last name) field takes emoji and symbols freely.
Why does my emoji show as a box for someone else?
Their phone’s font doesn’t include that character yet. Classic symbols (꧁ ☆ ♡) render almost everywhere; newer color emoji can lag on older Android/iOS versions — see our homepage compatibility table.
