NickEmoji is an independent website. This page explains what that means and sets limits on what the site’s test results can promise you.
We are not affiliated with any platform
NickEmoji is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Discord, TikTok, Snapchat, Steam/Valve, WhatsApp, Instagram, Meta, X, Apple, Google, or any other platform, app, or company named on this site. Those names are trademarks of their respective owners and appear here only to describe where an emoji or symbol set is commonly used. The visual design of emoji on each platform (the specific artwork Apple, Google, Samsung, or Microsoft draws for a given Unicode character) belongs to that company — we publish the underlying character as copyable text, never the vendor’s artwork as an image. See about nickemoji for how the editorial team is organized and what it tests.
Test results are not a guarantee
When a page says a symbol was “accepted” on a platform, that’s a real result from a real test on a specific device, app version, and date — not a promise it will still work today. Platforms change name-field rules without announcing it. Treat every result as a starting point and check it yourself in the field you actually plan to use before relying on it.
We don’t publish filter-bypass techniques
NickEmoji describes how platforms’ name filters behave; it doesn’t publish methods for evading a ban, bypassing moderation, or circumventing a platform’s filter for disallowed content. If a character is rejected by a platform, that’s the platform’s own policy at work, not a bug to route around.
No invented statistics
We don’t publish fake vote counts, download numbers, ratings, or testimonials. Where a widely repeated number (like a platform’s exact character limit) has no official published source, we say plainly that it’s an observed value, not a documented one.
Content scope
NickEmoji does not publish sexual, adult, hateful, extremist, or impersonation-oriented name sets. If you find content that violates this, please contact us.
Questions people ask
Does NickEmoji work for Discord, TikTok, Snapchat, and Steam?
We publish sets tested against each platform’s name field and record what happened per platform and date; see the specific platform page for its own results, since acceptance differs by platform.
Can emoji look different than what’s shown on this site?
Yes. Each operating system and app renders emoji with its own artwork, so the same character can look slightly different on an iPhone, an Android phone, and a desktop browser.
